My landscape work moves beyond realism, exploring the essence of place through memory, color, and form. Using oil paint alongside acrylic, I reimagine landscapes as layered interpretations rather than direct depictions. At times, I photograph landscapes on color film, focusing on shapes and tonal relationships, then translate these images into paintings. Other times, I work from memory, allowing impressions of place to emerge intuitively on the canvas. This process balances the tangible with the ephemeral, inviting viewers to experience landscapes as both familiar and abstract.
